2010 OUTLAW Hobby Building Rules

THOSE ITEMS NOT ADDRESSED IN THE FOLLOWING MUST REMAIN STOCK AS PRODUCED BY THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER

BODY:

1. Any year model American made car. No front wheel drives allowed. Wheelbase must be factory stock. No tolerance. subcompact cars OK. Rack and pinion cars must be factory stock parts only. If chassis is altered or steering parts are not stock and in stock location - iT's not legal! All uni-body cars may be tied together. Must have a complete stock factory floor pan and firewall or drivers box. Seats any location in front of rear wheels.

2. Stock oem frame for that year model. Stock floorboards, and firewall. Body must look factory stock, may use sheet metal (STEEL OR ALUMINUM) on doors and fenders. Bumpers may be square tubing Must have tow loops front and rear. Spoilers must not exceed 6 inches. 3 braces allowed, one at each end 1 in middle and cannot exceed 6" in length. Spoiler must not be wider than rear of car. Back of body must be enclosed fender to fender. Rear fender wells may be cut out for tire clearance, . Factory stock OEM frame front to rear. NO alterations allowed. This includes all cross Front fender wells may be unbolted and removed. Fenders may be trimmed for tire clearance.

3. All weight must be added in the form of roll bars or solid weights bolted securely to the frame of the car outside of the driver's compartment. All weights must be painted white with car number on it.

4. All doors must be secured to body. Must have 3 bars in front of driver's window. All cars must have front dash in stock location. Sheet metal only. Rear firewall must extend from bottom of rear window to bottom of floor pan. Holes in firewall must be covered with metal or aluminum. . May replace factory dash with aluminum ~ no wider than 12 inches. 1/8" thick doorplate is mandatory.

5. All glass must be removed, including head and taillights. No rear view mirrors allowed.

6. Gauges may be removed. All flammable interior (carpet, headliner, interior side panel, rear seats, etc.) must be removed. Racing seat strongly recommended. Wiring harness may be removed and replaced. Shoulder harness is mandatory. All cars must be equipped with racing safety-approved seat belts bolted to the frame. No standard auto safety belts allowed. Neck brace and window net (or arm restraints) are mandatory.

7. Quick release steering wheel is optional. Quick steer boxes OK. Steering remains in stock position.

8. WEIGHT: 3000 lb. after race with driver. .

ENGINE AND DRIVETRAIN:

ENGINE MUST HAVE BEEN AVAILABLE IN THIS brand VEHICLE. YEAR MAY BE INTERCHANGED. MUST HAVE 360 DEGREE EXPLOSION PROOF STEEL BELLHOUSING

1. Engine must be stock production. Factory blocks only. No 90 or newer roller cam blocks. No bowtie or aluminum blocks. Casting numbers must be readable by tech official. No 400 blocks. Engine set back #1 plug even with upper ball joint. Fire wall may be moved back, but must display original fire wall. Flat top or dished pistons only. Maximum cubic inch displacement to include clearance and wear is 362 for GM and Ford and 370 for Mopar. All others must not exceed 362 CID. No stroking or destroking or porting

2. INTAKES: Any oem production intake. No porting of the heads or gasket matching of intake or heads. Intake may be reworked under carb area. Carb spacer no taller than 1 inch 500/1000 inch allowed strickly enforced. 1/4 inch gasket or spacers total for carb top and bottom ie(250/1000) CARBURETORS: 4412 Holley 2 barrel or stock factory carbs. 2-barrel only. Bottom throttle plate hole 1 11/16 inch. Top 1 3/8 inch. Factory style HEI distributors. No remote coils on GM distributors. No onboard electronic devices capable of storing information allowed. No aftermarket electronic amplifying devices allowed. Tachometers only.

3. Hydraulic or flat tappet camshafts only. NO mushroom cams. No roller hydraulic cams.

4. Heads must be OEM production only. No aftermarket or n or aluminum heads. Casting number must be readable by tech official. 2.02 - 1.60 valves is the largest size allowed. No aluminum heads. Aftermarket valve springs OK. Roller rocker arms ok. Screw in studs allowed.

5. Headers are legal.

6. oem automatics or oem standard transmissions. Must use factory stock OEM clutch disc and pressure plates on stock steel OEM flywheels only. NO EXCEPTIONS. Stock type factory torque converters required on all automatics. Driver must be able to put car in gear from park/neutral and move forward and reverse at time of inspection. Must have drive shaft loop. Drive shafts must be painted white.

TIRES - WHEELS - SUSPENSIONS:

1. IMCA, Street or track tires only. Any asphalt takeoffs on the front and rear. NO tires softer than a 45 compound All tires must pass tech inspection.

2. Steel racing wheels only. Maximum width is 10". Right rear bead-lock recommended. NO plastic or aluminum wheels.

3. Racing springs allowed on front and rear. Adjustable/Cheater weight jacks on front only. Rear Springs must use stock upper spring pads in stock location.

4. Racing shocks allowed, must mount in stock location. No heim mounted shocks allowed. Must
Have 3 or 4 wheel brakes, valve must be in engine compartment. After-market brake pedals and master cylinders are OK. Rear suspensions must mount up factory stock. Horizontal working Sliders or shackles ok. NO alterations to coil springs or mounts. All control arms must mount up in stock positions. NO aftermarket control arms. Any stock American made car or ˝ ton truck rear ends allowed. All cars must remain on stock suspension for the car that it is under. NO gold tracs or any form of traction devices allowed. All rear ends must be locked.

5. A 9 inch Ford housing highly recommended. GRAND NATIONALS OK. GM rear ends MUST have axle retention.

wings 4 foot tall max, 5 foot long max, 4.5 foot wide max, back of wing no futher back than center of rear wheel,no futher forward than front of roof line, single layer wings only no adjustments on wing manuel or other, no walls 1 wing per car, if you run a wing you will add 100# in front of motor plate and weigh 200# over mininum weigh for your car 1. hobby rules and u could run a wing 2. hobby stock rules with no wing and you could run a 4 bbl carb. or you can run a batesville type street stock 2010 STREET STOCK BUILDING RULES STREET STOCK 1. Street Stock weight rule 3200 lbs. With driver after race. 2. Any year from 1967 - current year model, make or model American production car. Minimum wheel base 101 inches. Wheel base must remain stock according to year model. All cars must remain stock appearing. All glass, chrome and trim must be removed. Windshields must be replaced with protective screen and have 3 small bars in front of driver. All flammables must be removed. All cars must have factory bumpers front and rear. All doors must be welded shut. Bars may be added, front and rear, to protect radiator and gas tank. Any unibody cars must have center supports welded to connect front and rear frame. All cars must have radiators in engine compartment only. No square bodies and no chopped tops. Tops must be stock. 3. Engine setback: No.1 plug must be no further back than ball joint. All cars must use 2-barrel carburetors. No more than 500 CFM maximum 1 11/16” throttle bore maximum. Holleys ok, headers ok, any battery fire distributor, manual fuel pump, no electric fuel pump, stock intakes. 4. All cars must have gas tanks of heavy duty construction and must be securely fastened to the frame in the trunk of the car. A rear fire wall is required between the driver compartment and the gas tank. 5. All cars must have working clutch and transmission. No Bert or after market transmission. Clutch must be on crankshaft. 6. Front shocks must be in stock position. Racing shocks ok. No weight jacks, no torque absorbing devices and no double shocks. 7. Rear ends may be locked. Suspension must remain in stock position. May use Ford in Chevy, etc. 8. Tires MUST be Track Tires Right rear bead lock optional. 9. Large steel lug nuts on all 4 wheels, steels wheels mandatory. 10 inch wheel maximum. 10. All drive shafts must be painted white and have a hoop around front end of shaft. 11. All cars must have at least 24 inch numbers on both sides and top. 12. A full 4 post roll cage is required. Roll cage must be cross braced with a minimum of 3 bars in both doors RECOMMENDED but X bar ok in right door. Cage must be minimum of 1 1/2” pipe of .095 thickness. Cage must be cross braced in top with X braces. Must have original floor pan. ********************************************** STREET STOCK BUILDING RULES add 100 # in front of motor plate if running under these rules 1. Any American made production car or truck. Wheelbase must remain stock for chassis used. Front spindles to rear end housing on chassis must be stock OEM frames. Right rear frame rail may be altered (not moved for tire clearance ONLY! Uni-body cars must be tied together with square tubing. All cars must have drive shaft loop and drive shaft must be painted white. Must have tow loops on front and rear. Minimum of 4 kidney bars in the drivers side door and 2 bars on passenger side . 2. Roll bars required. No screw joint fittings allowed. The minimum requirement for all roll bars shall be an "A" shaped affair, constructed of at least 1 1/2" OD pipe with bars running from upper right corner to lower left corner and the opposite from the other side of car, forming an "X" as viewed from front to rear. There must also be a cross bar on top of "A" and 4 bars down the side and 4 bars around the top to complete a caged affair around the driver. All roll bar pipes must be at least .095 in thickness and must have an additional support extending from rear upright to rear position of frame. No concrete reinforcement steel may be used. Gussets are required at all door bar welds. 3. Stock appearing bodies only. Must be stock Detroit production Olds, Buick, Pontiac, Chevy, Ford, AMC appearing bodies. NO Late Model style bodies allowed. Rubber nose and tailpieces allowed. Interior may be enclosed. Driver and passenger windows must open to a minimum of 12". Front of roof may be dropped 2 inches from stock height. Rear of roof must be in stock location. Cars cannot be altered in size. Front and rear firewalls mandatory. No rear view mirrors allowed. Must have driver’s compartment floor pan, may be fabricated. Rear spoiler must not exceed 6" in height. 3 forward braces, may not exceed 12" long. Sheet metal or aluminum doors and fenders allowed. Side skirts allowed. Factory trunk lid or stock appearing aftermarket trunk lid ~ steel or aluminum. Rear end must have enclosure ~ must go from trunk lid to rear bumper ~ minimum width 36". 4. All cars must be equipped with racing safety-approved seat belts bolted to the frame or sub- frame. Drivers’ seat and steering must be in stock location. Racing seat is mandatory. Neck brace and window net (or arm restraints) are mandatory. 1/8" thick doorplate is mandatory. Back of cage to 9 inches in front of seat bottom to top. 5. Gas tanks must be in stock position. Fuel cells mandatory. 32 gallon maximum. Gas tanks/cells must be securely installed with 2 inch wide by 1/8 inch steel straps. Pump, racing or aviation gas only. NO nitrous oxide allowed. 6. Bumpers may be square tubing ~ rub rail ok ~ All cars must remain stock appearing. Quick steer boxes allowed. Must have a chain loop in front and rear for wreckers to hook to. 7. WEIGHT: 3200 lb. after race with driver. All weights must be securely mounted to the frame of the car outside of the driver’s compartment. All weights must be painted white with numbers on it. MOTOR: NO Cubic Inch Limit 1. MOTOR BLOCK AND HEADS CAST IRON ONLY, NO Dry Sump Systems. Any Aluminum intakes allowed. 2. Stock production or mass-produced cast iron aftermarket heads only. Factory part number must be readable by tech official. On GM, Ford or Mopar maximum valve size allowed 2.05 - 1.625. AMC must be stock valve size. No exceptions. No aluminum heads. No exceptions. Stud girdles – guide plates - roller rockers are allowed. Aftermarket valves and springs allowed. Must be steel valves only. Porting of heads allowed. Engine setback will be allowed to centerline of the upper ball joint to the center of the #1 spark plug hole. 363 cubic inch limit CARBURETOR: 1.Holley 500 CFM 2 barrell carburetor. Will be measured at the throdle bore 1 11/16" OD at the ventura. 1 3/8" OD at the bottom of the carburetor. HEADERS: 1. Any Header Allowed DRIVETRAIN: 1. Transmissions: Only OEM production type transmissions will be allowed: 3 speed, 4 speed and Automatics. Clutch must be on crankshaft inside of bell housing. Driver must be able to put car in gear from park/neutral and move forward and reverse at time of inspection. Automatics may have bypass valve. 2. A 9 inch Ford or GN housing highly recommended. GM rear ends MUST have axle retention. spools in rear end OK. Aluminum drive shafts not allowed. Drive shaft must be painted white. Grand Nationals allowed. 3. No direct drive allowed. Mini-clutches allowed. Triple discs OK. You must have blow-proof bell housing. TIRES - WHEELS - SUSPENSION: Street or track tires only. Any asphalt pull offs. No Late Model dirt tires allowed. Must pass tech inspection. No tires softer than a 55 compound. Street tires OK - but not larger than 275/60/15. Steel 10" wide wheels maximum. Right rear bead lock only. 5/8" wheel studs MANDATORY. Tires may be grooved. No recaps. Mud caps on right side only. hiems end shocks ok 2. Rear Suspensions: Rear lower and upper control arm must be stock and in the stock position. No J- Bars or other torque absorbing devices allowed. Weight jack bolts OK. BRAKES: Brakes must be stock production .
